International Human Rights Clinic
The International Human Rights Clinic (IHRC) provides a unique opportunity for law students to gain first-hand experience working on international human rights litigation, advocacy and policy projects.
The IHRC combines classroom education with supervised case and project management, providing students with practical training in essential transferable lawyering skills while serving our community and promoting social justice.

The Clinic's Mission is to engage students in experiential learning, inspire them to be ethical professionals, and promote social justice.

Our law students receive hands-on experience fighting for human rights around the world while gaining valuable practical legal experience.

The Clinic’s projects cover a wide range of cutting-edge legal issues.

From comprehensive human rights reports to legal briefs, advocacy and policy letters, social media videos, and statements before the UN and the Inter-American human rights systems, the Clinic produces recognized work in many areas.

“Being a part of the work at the human rights clinic has given me the opportunity to work on the projects I always envisioned myself doing in law school. While taking the required doctrinal classes, I often felt disconnected from the community work I felt passionate about. Working on the CEDAW ordinance and women’s homelessness issues gave me a renewed sense of purpose.”
