ABA AI & Robotics National Institute

ABA AI & Robotics conference banner

The High Tech Law Institute at Santa Clara Law is pleased to host the ABA’s 7th annual AI and Robotics National Institute on October 13-14 on the beautiful Santa Clara University Campus.

Disruption and transformation are the new normal as businesses and lawyers expand their use of AI, particularly generative AI. A new Administration and accelerating technological developments mean it is not business as usual. So much has changed in the past year, with challenging legal implications for lawyers and clients in every industry.

At the ABA’s 7th annual AI and Robotics National Institute, attendees will hear the latest insights from practitioners and thought leaders, and network during breakfast, lunch, and Day 1 reception (all included) with other lawyers and business professionals dealing with AI issues.

Don’t miss your chance to:

  • Delve into must-know topics: agentic AI (the hot new buzzword); emerging AI legislation, regulation, and standards and the technology influencing them; legal issues (privacy, tort, deceptive/unfair practice, etc.) in using AI that shapes or responds to human emotions; risk mitigation for robots and physical AI; ethically using AI in legal practice; and the elephant in the room: who is really in charge, and will AI replace humans?

  • Tailor your experience with 2 breakout tracks (three 1-hour sessions):

  • AI in Practice: negotiating and managing contracts, using AI to generate documents, drafting policies and notices;

  • Intellectual Property: drafting and negotiating AI data and IP licenses, using copyrighted content in training GenAI models, AI patent and trade secret issues.

  • Hear 3 compelling keynotes and a high-powered roundtable with senior in-house counsel.

  • Earn up to 10.5 CLE credit hours (including ethics).

  • Expand your network in the heart of Silicon Valley, and meet authors of the 2024 ABA best-selling book: Artificial Intelligence: Legal Issues, Policy, and Practical Strategies.

Registration is Required.

SCU students interested in attending the event should email Dorice McDonnell at dkunis@scu.edu
