Veterans Benefits

Santa Clara University Veteran Services is located within the University’s Office of the Registrar. Their main function is to certify and report enrollment information to the Veterans Administration to ensure receipt of educational benefits by eligible students.

Santa Clara University may be notified by the Veterans Administration about your VA benefits, but you should always notify us of your benefits, or notify us if the amount of your VA benefits has changed.

Santa Clara University has been certified by the California State Approving Agency for Veterans Education (CSAAVE) as qualified to enroll students under applicable federal legislation and regulations, including:

  • Chapter 35 (child of a deceased or 100 percent disabled veteran, widow of any person who died in the service or died of a service-connected disability, or spouse of a veteran with a 100 percent service-connected disability)
  • Chapter 31 (Veteran Readiness and Employment – VR&E)
  • Chapter 30/1606 (active duty Montgomery G.I. Bill®)
  • Chapter 33 (Post 9/11 GI Bill® and Yellow Ribbon Program)

Ahmanson Veteran Scholarship

Ahmanson Foundation Veterans Scholarship provides grant support  for student veterans who are eligible for the Post 9/11 GI Bill® at SCU.

Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA)

Interest on federal student loans obtained prior to your military service is limited to six percent during periods of active duty. The interest rate limitation also applies to any private student education loans.
