Jessica Jackson Sloan ’11‘s organization, #cut50, has helped introduce the Dignity for Women Act, co-authored by Senators Elizabeth Warren, Senator Cory Booker, Senator Kamala Harris, and Senator Dick Durbin. In a Facebook post, Jessica wrote:

“Women in our federal prisons are being shackled while pregnant and in labor, forced to make the painful choice between calling home to their children and purchasing expensive hygiene items such as tampons, and held in solitary confinement while pregnant. It is time to end these barbaric practices and treat our women and mothers with DIGNITY.”
