Santa Clara University School of Law student Anjali Moorthy was quoted in a story about summer externships at Duane Morris, a Bay Area law firm. From the article:

Students are told up-front that the externships are not expected to lead to a permanent position. But for one of Duane Morris’ externs, it did. Anjali Moorthy externed with the firm in Palo Alto for both semesters of her 3L year, and became an associate in August. The firm loaned her out to client NetApp Inc., first as an extern and later as an employee.

“I got an entire year of training before entering the workforce, which is essentially unheard of,” Moorthy said, noting that she would have been paying the same tuition to Santa Clara regardless. “It’s really rare to get an opportunity at [law firm work experience] outside of on-campus interviews.”
