Daniel Taylor was exonerated and released from prison in Chicago on June 29th after spending 20 years in prison for a double-murder he did not commit. Taylor was just 17-years-old when he says the Chicago police coerced him and three other teenagers into giving false confessions. Taylor was released after his attorneys at Northwestern University’s Center on Wrongful Convictions presented evidence that Taylor had an alibi and was actually in police custody at the time the murders occurred in 1992.

Now, Taylor is seeking vindication for the three other men that are still behind bars who were convicted of the same murders. Taylor acknowledged that world outside of prison has changed drastically since he was a teenager and he is trying to adjust to the changes. He received his GED when he was in prison and is studying to take the SAT. His ultimate goal is to become an eye surgeon.
