The Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB.) and The High Tech Law Institute at Santa Clara University School of Law present:

Complying with the EU Cookie Directive – How Not to Get Left Holding the Bag

The 2009 amendments to the European Union’s (EU) E-Privacy Directive have created challenges for US companies operating abroad. These amendments, aka the “Cookie Directive,” require acquiring informed consent from users before storage of tracking files on users’ computers is authorized. The resulting challenges that face US companies stem from the non-uniform consent standards adopted by EU member states. This panel features expert explanation of the E-Privacy Directive and top methods for compliance with the Cookie Directive.

Confirmed Panelists Include: Marcus Morissette, Privacy Counsel & Marketplaces Privacy Leader, eBay; John Tomaszewski, General Counsel, TRUSTe, and Francoise Gilbert, Managing Director, IT Law Group.
