Officer Descriptions

President: Works with the executive board and club members to plan and execute W&L events throughout the year. Oversees all club activities. Represents W&L at Council of Leaders meetings. Maintains the W&L website.

 

External Vice President: Organizes events that allow club members to come in contact with law practitioners. This includes coordinating all speakers for the Women & Law Speaker Series.

 

Internal Vice President: Organizes networking/social events for club members to meet each other. This includes running the "mentor-mentee" program. In the past, Internal VPs have planned BBQs, wine and cheese parties, ice cream socials, etc.

 

Secretary: Responsible for all communication between the Executive Board and club members. This includes sending email announcements as well as managing event publicity using the Grapevine, white boards, and other on-campus advertising methods. Also maintains the membership list.

 

Treasurer: Responsible for all club finances. Submits SBA budget proposal, deposits funds, oversees reimbursements, and keeps track of the club budget. 

 

Benefit Chair(s): Plans the Annual Women & Law Benefit. This includes picking an organization (beneficiary), booking the vendors and location, obtaining donations, finding a speaker, planning ticket sales, etc.

 

Community Service Chair(s): Plans and organizes community outreach events and donation drives.

 

Part-Time Liaison: Maintains correspondence with part-time students and plans events that part-time students are able to attend.

 

Historian: Takes pictures at Women & Law events and posts them on the W&L website. Updates the club’s scrapbook. Collects contact information of graduating students.
