Welcome!
The Women and Law Association is dedicated to providing academic and personal support to our members, and increasing awareness of legal, political, and social issues affecting women. We are also committed to actively serving our community. To further these goals, Women & Law facilitates networking opportunities, organizes outreach projects, and hosts speaking events that encourage discussion and foster support. All members of the Santa Clara University School of Law community are encouraged to participate.
UPCOMING EVENTS:
Oct. 15, 2009 (Thurs.), 6pm - 8pm: Wine and Cheese Networking Event for Law Students and Practitioners: Women & Law is hosting a wine and cheese networking event in the Nobili Dining Room (located in Nobili Hall behind Mission Church) for law students and practictioners. This event will provide club members with an opportunity to meet Women and Law alums and women involved with firms in the Bay Area.
Nobili Hall is located along Lafayette St. and looks out onto the historic Mission Gardens.
Oct. 21, 2009 (Wed.), 12pm-1pm: Work-Life Balance Panel: Women and Law is hosting a Work-Life Balance Panel on Wed., 10/21/09. Practictioners will discuss how they balance their personal lives and professional lives.
Oct. 20, 2009 (Tues.) & Oct. 21, 2009 (Wed.), 12pm-1pm & 5pm-6pm: W&L Bake Sale: W&L will be hosting a bake sale in Bannan Lounge on 10/20/09 and 10/21/09. Stop by Bannan Lounge from 12pm-1pm and 5pm-6pm for delicious treats!
Oct. 26, 2009 (Mon.) - Oct. 30, 2009 (Fri.): Pennies for Pakistan: Stop by Bannan Lounge to help raise money for Pakistani refugees!

2009-2010 EVENTS
Sept. 27, 2009 (Sun.) Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure: Women & Law participated in the Susan G. Koman Race for the Cure, an annual event has helps raise millions of dollars for the fight against breast cancer. W&L's team fundraised nearly $1,000 for the cause!
Sept. 19, 2009 (Sat.) Coastal Clean-Up Day co-sponsored with Environmental Law Society: Women & Law and the Environmental Law Society participated in a beach clean up at Bonny Doon beach!
Sept. 9, 2009 (Wed.) Fall Mentor-Mentee Mixer: W&L hosted a Mentor/Mentee Mixer on September 9, 2009 from 4:45 to 5:45 in the Kenna Trellis Area. This event allowed 1Ls to meet upper division students and get to know more about personal experiences through law school as well as a great opportunity for 2,3 and 4Ls to pass along "I wish I knew then…" pieces of advice.

Feb. 2 – 12, 2009 (Mon. – Thur.) - Women & Law Bake Sale
W&L hosted a bake sale to benefit Girls for a Change, a national organization that empowers thousands of teenage girls to create and lead social change.
Feb. 11, 2009 (Wed.) - Valentine’s Day Goodie Bags for San Jose Family Shelter
W&L made Valentine’s Day goodie bags for the children at San Jose Family Shelter.
Feb. 20, 2009 (Fri.) - Women & Law Benefit
W&L held a raffle and a silent auction to benefit Girls For A Change (http://www.girlsforachange.org), which is a national non-profit organization that originated in Santa Clara in 2000. GFC empowers girls to create social change, inviting them to design, lead, fund and implement social change projects that tackle issues girls face in their own neighborhoods. The event raised approximately $1,000 for the organization.
