Sylvia Lazos (UNLV – Boyd School of Law) will speak on "Democracy: Judges and Demography"

Sylvia Lazos, Professor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas William S. Boyd School of Law,earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees, both magna cum laude, in economics from St. Mary’s University,in San Antonio, Texas; and a J.D from the University of Michigan Law School. Her research focuses on theimportance of diversity in the judiciary, the impact of rapid immigration growth on intergroup relations, and fashioning constitutional interpretive norms to promote better cross-racial understanding.
