On three different evenings this summer, NCIP exoneree Maurice Caldwell and Legal Director Linda Starr met with groups of 250 bright, committed and talented high school students from around the country who were participating in the Envision Intensive Law and Trial Program at Stanford University. Caldwell told the students of his experience in prison after having been wrongfully convicted and how difficult it has been for him to move on with his life since his release.  Starr told the students about the work that NCIP did to have Maurice’s conviction overturned.  The students were engaged and asked many thoughtful questions.  Now these 750 students can take back to their communities the message of the danger and harm of wrongful convictions and some strategies to address and prevent them.
