The Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors voted to give the Workers’ Rights program at the Katharine & George Alexander Community Law Center $50,000 on an ongoing basis for 5 years. The Supervisors gave the Law Center an initial one time award last year, which arose from the Vulnerable Workers’ forum. The current award was based on the success of the Workers’ Rights program (outreach, Clinic, Skills, and VABANC/KGACLC) and the wage theft work which will culminate in a Wage Theft Ordinance.
