Scott Maurer Wrote an Op-Ed for the San Jose Mercury News on Forced Arbitration

Scott Maurer, supervising attorney and associate clinical professor in consumer law at the Katharine and George Alexander Community Law Center, wrote an op-ed for the San Jose Mercury News on a recent study by the Consumer Financial Protection Board on “forced arbitration” – contract provisions that compel consumers buying everything from phones to cars to waive their right to sue in court if a dispute arises, even if the dispute involves fraud. The op-ed ran in at least 10 additional publications. He also was quoted in a widely reprinted LA Times story about problems with credit reporting agencies.Read more.
