The Northern California Innocence Project at Santa Clara University School of Law will host a panel discussion featuring Fredric Tulsky, San Jose Mercury News author of "Tainted Trials, Stolen Justice."  Pulitzer Prize winner Tulsky will discuss his three-year investigation of the Santa Clara County criminal justice system on Wednesday, March 29 from noon – 1:00 p.m. in Bannan Hall, Room 139.

Sitting on the panel with Mr. Tulsky will be Gerald Uelmen, SCU law faculty, Mary Greenwood, Public Defender for Santa Clara County and Karen Sinunu, Santa Clara county prosecutor who is running for District Attorney.  The panel will be moderated by Cookie Ridolfi, Executive Director of NCIP.

The San Jose Mercury News published Mr. Tulsky’s findings of a three year study of Santa Clara County criminal trials in a five-part series beginning on January 22, 2006.  His findings included many factors that lead to wrongful conviction, including questionable conduct by prosecutors, defense attorneys, trial judges and the appellate court.
