KGACLC Awarded Funding From Santa Clara County to Assist Immigrant Victims of Domestic Violence

Angelo Ancheta has received funding of $31,519 from County of Santa Clara to support the “Unmet Civil Legal Services Program”. This is the second-year of an anticipated three-year award. The total funding to be awarded over the three year period is $90,465.

 

This award is from the County of Santa Clara Social Services Agency to provide funding for the Katharine & George Alexander’s “Legal Assistance to Immigrant Victims of Domestic Violence”. Santa Clara University's Katharine & George Alexander Community Law Center's Legal Assistance to Low Income Immigrants will provide advice clinics, representation in court and administrative agencies; workshops to community groups; preparation and distribution of community education materials; appearances in media regarding changes in law and targeted referrals when the Center is unable to help.

The Katharine & George Alexander Community Law Center serves the under represented in Santa Clara County in the areas of immigration, workers’ rights, and consumer and debtors’ rights.
