Santa Clara's student team has won the Best Written Submission award in the nationwide ABA Law Student Tax Challenge. Joe Myszka, a third year student in the JD/MBA program, and Bonnie Wright, a third year student pursuing a joint Santa Clara JD and a Master of Science in Taxation degree from San Jose State University, received their award on January 19 at the ABA Tax Section meeting in Hollywood, Florida. They submitted the best paper describing a solution to a complex business tax problem involving choice-of-entity and executive compensation issues in the acquisition of a privately held corporation.
