Over 650 attorneys and estate planning professionals attended the 12th Annual Jerry A. Kasner Estate Planning Symposium, held last week at the Santa Clara Convention Center. Sponsored by Santa Clara Law and Santa Clara University Office of Gift Planning, the annual event draws hundreds of attendees, faculty and sponsors from the West Coast and is considered one of the premier estate planning conferences in the US.
Keynote speakers included Robert Temmerman, Jr., Partner, Temmerman, Cilley & Kohlmann, LLP who spoke on current California developments in estate planning and administration and Professor San Donaldson, Georgia State University College of Law, who presented on federal tax updates as well as planning opportunities (and traps) with business entities with emphasis on income taxation.
