Jessica Jackson Sloan ’11 was recently quoted in Forbes in an article titled “5 Lessons We’ve Learned About Resilience From 30 Boss Ladies”.

Jessica is currently Mayor of Mill Valley, working with Van Jones for #cut50 (to cut mass incarceration) and involved in numerous highly visible initiatives.

“I spent a lot of time when I was in my 20s being hesitant to speak up because I was worried what other people would say or think. I was worried if it would fit whatever mold, I worried about sounding stupid. What I’ve learned now that I’m in my mid 30s and a mother to two girls, is that nothing you say is stupid as long as you’re speaking the truth.
