Exonerees Give Back in Chicago

Exonerees Antione Day and Jarrett Adams are tirelessly working with the Loyola University Chicago School of Law Life After Innocence program to help exonerees find housing after their release from prison. The Life After Justice Center in Chicago was created after Day came up with the idea to find a home and make it habitable for Illinois exonerees shortly after their release from prison.

Maurice Caldwell Speaks with ABC7 about Exoneree Struggles Post-Prison

NCIP exoneree Maurice Caldwell and NCIP attorney Paige Kaneb recently spoke with ABC7 News about the struggle exonerees face after prison. In 1990, an eyewitness falsely identified Caldwell as a killer during a bad drug deal, and he wrongfully spent nearly 22 years in prison before he was exonerated with the help of NCIP.

Former DA Jailed after Concealing Evidence in Murder Case

Former Williamson County District Attorney Ken Anderson was briefly jailed April 19, then released on bail after a district judge determined there was probable cause that Anderson violated state law by lying to a trial judge to win the conviction of Michael Morton in a 1986 murder case.
