MISSION STATEMENT

|
This law student organization is the first and only law student group in the country affiliated with American Immigration Lawyers Association, the national professional bar association for attorneys specializing in general immigration law or its many subspecialty practice areas. It was started in 2009 by Christina Fialho (Class of 2012) through the help of Randall Caudle and the AILA, Santa Clara Valley Chapter. It was established to promote justice, advocate for fair and reasonable immigration law and policy, and enhance the professional and academic development of its members.
This student organization exists to educate the student body about the ways in which U.S. immigration law and policy serve the national interest by reuniting American families, protecting refugees, and providing U.S. employers with the specialized skills they need to remain globally competitive. Furthermore, it seeks to create a supportive space for students to discuss and debate immigration issues, while also challenging members to create a more just and humane world by engaging with immigrant communities.
This student organization encourages law students to join AILA as student members and participate in AILA events! Please read our Constitution for more details.
