If you still have some time available this summer, consider taking the Advanced Legal Research (ALR) in IP, taught by research librarian Thomas DeGuzman. The one-unit course will help you learn how to research IP topics. See the course description: http://law.scu.edu/academics/courses/advanced-legal-research-in-intellectual-property-642.cfm

If you’re writing a paper this summer, such as a comment for the Computer & High Tech Law Journal, it’s an excellent way to make some headway on your paper while getting expert guidance on how to do research for the paper. As you know, writing a good paper can boost your job search–you can use the paper as a writing sample and as a submission to writing competitions, and getting a paper published is always a great item for the resume.
