Tuition and Payment Deadlines

Annual Law School tuition and fee charges for the 2011-2012 academic year are as follows:

  • Full-Time        $41,790 ($20,895 per semester)
  • Part-Time       $29,524 ($14,762 per semester)

Planning and saving ahead for living and unanticipated expenses incurred during the academic year is important. We estimate that food and housing costs in the vicinity of the University should approximate $14,056 for a single student with roommates for the nine-month academic period. An additional minimum of $7,900 will be needed to cover books, entertainment, personal items and transportation. Click here for a more detailed breakdown of first year costs.

Deadlines & Financial Aid

If you will be relying on federal student loans to help pay for your tuition, you must file a FAFSA and submit all supporting documentation with enough advance time to allow for processing of your federal financial aid package. Santa Clara University’s school code is 001326. You will not receive an official aid notification until Santa Clara University is listed as one of the schools on your FAFSA. Please do not send a paper copy of your Student Aid Report (SAR). If SCU was not originally listed on your FAFSA, please make the correction and submit it to the federal processor immediately.  Santa Clara asks that applicants file the FAFSA as soon as possible after January 1st, however we suggest that students apply by April 1st

If you will be applying for a Grad PLUS Loan to help pay for your tuition, you should submit your application on the Department of Education's Direct Lending site no sooner than July 1st.

Please contact our financial aid counselor, LaToya Powell, at lawfinancialaid@scu.edu or (408) 554-5048 for more information about financial aid processing.
