Jefferson Scher


Biography

Jefferson F. Scher is a partner in the Silicon Valley law firm of Carr & Ferrell LLP, where he heads the Trademark Practice Group. He has handled trademark and copyright matters for Excite, @Home, Intuit, and Trend Micro, and a wide variety of emerging companies. Jefferson's practice spans a broad range of domestic and international trademark issues, including name and trademark availability and risk assessment, registration strategy and prosecution, and initiating, defending and resolving disputes. He has negotiated numerous domain name transactions on behalf of his clients, and has been a frequent speaker on trademarks in cyberspace. Before joining Carr & Ferrell LLP in 1997, Jefferson was an associate with Fenwick & West LLP in Palo Alto and a law clerk to Judge A. Wallace Tashima in the United States District Court for the Central District of California.
