Thomas E. Schatzel


Biography

Thomas Schatzel  has taught for Santa Clara University School of Law since 1975 as an adjunct faculty and in 1999 was named Senior Fellow. Mr. Schatzel enjoys teaching Patent Law, Unfair Competition Practices, Copyright Law, and Introduction to Intellectual Property. He has taught other courses such as; Antitrust Law, Legal Concerns of Start-Up and Growing High Technology Companies and Intellectual Property Law for Engineers.

Currently he is a sole Shareholder of the Law Offices of Thomas E. Schatzel, a Professional Corporation. He has extensive experience in litigation of patent and trademark matters; prosecution of patent, trademark registration and copyright registration applications; licensing intellectual property; and counseling relative to intellectual property matters.

Mr. Schatzel was admitted to practice law in Wisconsin, 1963; California, 1967; U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, 1964; U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth, Fifth and Federal Circuits; U.S. District Courts, Northern, Central and Eastern Districts of California; U.S. Supreme Court.
