Thiadora Pina is responsible for developing, maintaining, and evaluating relationships with externship field placement organizations and supervisors. She teaches the Civil Practice, High Tech, and Social Justice Externship Seminar and other externship workshops. She also provides individual counseling to students about the externship program and field placement opportunities.
Thiadora is a licensed attorney and practiced civil litigation for over eleven years. In addition to her work as an attorney, Thiadora also taught paralegal studies for three years. During that time, she worked extensively with students developing externship opportunities and assisting with professional development and resume building. She also volunteered at Northeastern University School of Law in the career-counseling center.
As an attorney, Thiadora concentrated her practice in contract law, tort law, and personal bankruptcy. She regularly appeared in district court, superior court and federal bankruptcy courts throughout the Boston, Massachusetts area.
Thiadora has extensive courtroom experience, proving effective before both judges and juries. She has successfully litigated hundreds of legal claims, from negotiated settlements to arbitration hearings and trials. She managed her own law practice for over five years, and has additional experience as an associate for both small and medium sized law firms. Her practice experience also included appellate work.
Thiadora remained active with Boston’s Cape Verdean community, serving on the board of directors for Cape Verdean Community UNIDO, and also serving as pro-bono counsel. She is a native of Boston, Massachusetts and enjoys cooking, travel and astronomy.
