Patrick Coughlin is an alumnus of Santa Clara Law School with over eight years of exclusively practicing criminal defense. Immediately after graduation, Patrick worked with a firm that handled cases alleged out of state prison. Through that position, he had the opportunity to work on serious cases, including homicides. He then gained trial experience as a public defender in Humboldt County, working there as a public defender. Since then, he has maintained a private practice in Santa Clara County, a bulk of his caseload coming from court appointed matters through the Independent Defenders Office (IDO).
He enjoys cooking, traveling, jogging (very slowly), and spending time with his family (his lovely wife and baby boy, and two extremely lazy cats).
