Kevin J. Murphy is currently a Superior Court Judge in Santa Clara County having been appointed to that position in July of 1989.

Prior to appointment to the Superior Court, Judge Murphy served on the Santa Clara Municipal Court for six and one half years. He was elected to that post following a nine year position as a Deputy District Attorney for Santa Clara County.

Judge Murphy began teaching in 1977 at De Anza Community College where he remains presently as a faculty member.

Judge Murphy taught for Santa Clara University's Paralegal Program from 1986 until 1999. He has been an adjunct instructor at Santa Clara Law since January 1999.
