Terri Mottershead
Terri Mottershead is the Director of the Legal Practice Centre (LPC) at Griffith University in Brisbane, Australia. The LPC focuses on post graduate legal education in the areas of practical legal training, professional legal studies and migration law and practice. Terri is also the founding Principal of San Francisco based Mottershead Consulting – Change and Talent Development Strategists (www.mottersheadconsulting.com). She brings to her work more than 28 years of experience on five different continents and 20 different countries in management, international law practice, legal institution building, talent management, organizational development, stakeholder engagement and consensus building, legal education and management training.
Prior to joining the LPC and establishing her own consultancy, Terri worked in-house in attorney talent management in Asia and for AmLaw 100 law firms in the US, practiced law in Australia and Hong Kong, was a law school academic and consultant in Hong Kong.
Terri has extensive experience in the planning, preparation, design, delivery and evaluation of tailor made training courses for lawyers, in-house counsel, law firm clients, government, non-government and industry groups, academic institutions and Law Societies/Bar Associations. These courses variably focused on substantive law topics, legal skills and law firm management. She has also worked extensively with lawyers and law firms in the areas of benchmarks and competencies; mentoring and coaching; feedback and performance evaluation; performance management and career development.
