Scott Michelman
Scott is a Staff Attorney with the American Civil Liberties Union. He has litigated a wide variety of civil rights and civil liberties cases, with an emphasis in national security and criminal justice reform. Scott was counsel to plaintiffs in the first challenge to warrantless wiretapping by the National Security Agency in 2006, in two challenges to Patriot Act provisions governing the use of National Security Letters (?NSLs?), in an employment discrimination case challenging the post-9/11 termination of an Arab-American aviation security expert, and in several cases involving classified information about Guantanamo Bay detainees and domestic spying. He has previously taught civil rights litigation in the clinical program at Seton Hall Law School in Newark, New Jersey.
