Terrence P. McMahon is a partner in the Silicon Valley office of McDermott, Will & Emery and head of the Firm's West Coast intellectual property practice. Mr. McMahon focuses his practice on the patent, copyright, trade secret, trade dress, trademark and other high stakes litigation.

Mr. McMahon has 25 years of litigation experience representing high tech heavyweights including Advanced Micro Devices, EMC Corporation, Logitech and Pacific Bell, on "bet the company" cases taking major technology companies such as Intel, Hewlett-Packard, Hyundai, Airtouch and Creative Labs.

Additionally, Mr. McMahon has authored numerous articles on intellectual property and trial topics. Most recently, his article, "High Tech Visual Tells a Story," was published in the November 2000 issue of the National Law Journal.

Mr. McMahon  is admitted to practice in California, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Central Districts of California. He is a member of the Santa Clara and American Bar Associations, the Association of Defense Counsel of Northern California and the California Trial Lawyers Association, serving on the Defense Lawyers Section.
