2015 Internet Law WIP Call for Papers

Use the hashtag #SCUHTLI

SCHEDULE FOR THE DAY (THIS WILL CHANGE!)

All rooms are located in the Benson Center, not the law school. The Mission Room is in the basement. The other rooms are on the first floor.

All talks are scheduled for 25 minutes, which includes both presentation and feedback time. We encourage you to talk for less than 15 minutes. Unless you instruct your timekeeper differently, your timekeeper will give you two sets of time advisories. The first set will count down 15 minutes of presentation time; the second set will count down to the end of the 25 minute session. WE WILL BE EXTREMELY STRICT ABOUT THE 25 MINUTE TIME LIMIT.

We’ve indicated which presentations have associated papers. We didn’t allocate any additional presentation time to those speakers, but we encourage you to read their papers in advance.

GAME NIGHT!

“the Internet is not something that you just dump something on. It’s not a big truck. It’s a series of tubes.” – Sen. Ted Stevens, June 28, 2006

“the Internet is the most dangerous parking lot imaginable” – FBI Director James Comey, October 5, 2014

After we finish our official business, we will visit some big trucks in our parking lot, where we will enjoy a geek-themed dinner from Santa Clara University’s new food truck. After dinner, we’ll enjoy a game truck filled with all kinds of modern and old-school video games that we can play against each other. We can play other games during and after the game truck. Peter Menell has offered to lead a game of Settlers of Catan, and Sapna Kumar has offered to lead a game of Cards Against Humanity. We’ll probably have some other games available (I’ll bring my Carcassonne set), and feel free to bring youyr own games, too.

6:00 – 7:00 PM Dinner from the food truck
6:45 PM Shuttle #1 to Beverly Heritage
7:00 – 9:00 PM Game truck
7:00 to ??? Settlers of Catan, Cards Against Humanity, and other games in Arts & Sciences
9:00 PM Shuttle #2 to Beverly Heritage

Game nights have become legendary at this conference. Past events have included PowerPoint karaoke, Dungeons & Dragons and more. See, e.g., https://secure.flickr.com/photos/81901130@N03/sets/72157633737216641/. Although the details haven’t finalized, we expect we’ll have another game night to remember on March 7. Plan your travel schedule accordingly!
