Professor Baker will be visiting SCU Law, complements of the Federalist Society, to talk about Federalism and the Internet. Professor Baker teaches a number of short-courses with Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia on separation of powers and serves as a visiting professor of law at Georgetown University. Baker previously worked as an assistant district attorney in New Orleans and has been a consultant to the U.S Department of Justice, the U.S. Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Separation of Powers, the White House Office of Planning, USIA and USAID. He was a Fulbright Scholar in the Philippines in 2006. Baker has presented cases in federal court, including oral arguments at the U.S. Supreme Court. He served on the American Bar Association Task Force that issued the report, The Federalization of Crime. Lunch will be provided and we look forward to seeing you there!
Ms. Froman is an attorney in Tucson, Arizona, and is recognized in the national publication, Best Lawyers in America, and was recently voted “Best Lawyer of the Year for Employment Law – Management” in Tucson, Arizona. Ms. Froman received her undergraduate degree in economics with honors from Stanford University and her juris doctor degree from Harvard Law School. Ms. Froman is a member of the National Rifle Association Board of Directors since 1992, serving for seven years as a vice president and two years as president after which she was unanimously elected to the NRA Executive Council for life. Ms. Froman is only the second woman elected as president since the NRA was founded in 1871. She has represented the NRA internationally at the United Nations, the International Trade Fair for Hunting and Sporting Arms (IWA), the World Forum on the Future of the Shooting Sports (WFFSA), and the Swiss Federal Shooting Festival. Ms. Froman will be visiting SCU Law, complements of the Federalist Society, to give a presentation on the importance of the Second Amendment in empowering women and minorities in society. Lunch will be provided!
