ABA Law Student Division Leadership Opportunities
There are over 100 available leadership positions (elected and appointed) in the ABA Law Student Division. Representing over 43,000 law students is a significant responsibility and requires the commitment of our nation’s most talented and dedicated law student leaders. The various leadership positions entail interaction with practicing attorneys, advocating the needs of law students and helping shape the policy of the ABA Law Student Division. The postmark deadlines are quickly approaching:
January 15, 2009 (postmarked deadline)
* Law Student Division Representative to the ABA Board of Governors (Elected)
*February 1, 2009 (postmarked deadline)
* Law Student Division National Officers: Chair, Vice-Chair and Secretary-Treasurer (Elected)
* Circuit Governors (Elected)
* Student Editor (Appointed)
*February 15, 2009 (postmarked deadline)
* Law Student Division Liaisons to ABA Entities (Appointed)
* National Student Directors for Law Student Division Competitions and VITA (Appointed)
*IMPORTANT NOTE: February 1 and February 15, 2009 fall on a Sunday. Please plan accordingly in order to adhear to the postmarked deadline. Nominations received by the ABA Law Student Division with a postmarked date after the February 1 or February 15, 2009 deadline, will not be accepted.

Circuit Governor Elections
SBA Presidents and ABA Representatives from law schools in your circuit will elect the new Circuit Governor during the upcoming Circuit Spring Meeting and Election. Each governor serves on the Division’s Board of Governors, which directs the activities of the Division. Visit www.abanet.org/lsd/spring/home.html for information regarding the upcoming spring circuit meeting schedule in your region of the country. Each school is strongly encouraged to nominate at least one candidate for circuit governor. The Division strives for a diverse leadership and encourages all interested candidates to apply.
