Welcome to The Hunt, the new blog sponsored by Santa Clara Law Career Services. The Hunt refers to the Job Hunt of course, and it is here to help you embark on the task of starting your legal career.

We will act as your local guide by posting job opportunities, analyzing hiring trends, and surveying practice areas that are showing activity. It is this area where we hope the blog will break new ground and be the most useful to you, whether you are a 1L looking for that first summer job, or Alumni actively searching for the experience you will need to begin your legal career.

We are here to help you on your hunt, from assisting you in choosing what to stalk (public interest fellowship, firm, District Attorney’s office), to making sure you have the proper tools (resume, cover letter, writing sample) and skills (interviewing, networking) to land the job you desire in an increasingly competitive market. We will advertise LCS lunchtime programs, post news worthy articles and interviews about the current market, and provide advice on tailoring your written materials towards the job you want.

So dust off that bright orange hat, practice that duck call, and we will see you in the tall grass as we enter this brave new world together.
