Potential Position for a Patent Attorney

The IP counsel will be responsible for day-to-day management of the patent portfolio and will help develop a strong patenting program, assist in harvesting inventions and soliciting invention disclosures, facilitate patent review meetings, conduct or supervise prior art searches, supervise patent application preparation and prosecution, provide litigation support, assist with IP due diligence, conduct third party IP analysis, assist with training seminars, manage the patent award program and handle various patent and technology matters as they arise. If necessary, with some guidance, the IP counsel can also assist with NDAs, trademark portfolio management, internal investigations, and other transactional and legal matters.

ABA Negotiation Competition Judging Opportunity at Santa Clara, November 5-6, 2011

Santa Clara Law alums are cordially invited to serve as negotiation round judges at the Region 9 rounds of the 2011-2012 ABA Negotiation Competition, hosted this November by Santa Clara University. This year's topic is real estate law. The competition will be held Saturday November 5, and Sunday November 6 at Santa Clara University School of Law. Judges are being sought now for the morning or afternoon rounds on Saturday, and for morning rounds on Sunday.

The Law Clerk Internship Program at Santa Clara District Attorney's Office

The Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office offers voluntary law clerk internship programs to students who have completed at least one full year of law school. The internship positions provide invaluable experience to individuals interested in a career in the field of criminal law. Interns have the opportunity to work closely with prosecutors in a wide variety of areas of prosecution and to attend tours of several County facilities. Interns also may attend the weekly noon time Brown Bag series where different legal topics are presented, followed by an open discussion/questions and answers period. Interns may also attend the in-house trainings.
