The Law Career Services Office is seeking one or two students to work part-time during the spring semester as part of our employer outreach and marketing team. The position entails reaching out to alumni, attorneys and recruiters to find panelists for career services workshops and to attend career fairs and networking events, arrange employer visits, and increase membership in the professional network.

IP Focused Summer Judicial Externship!

The Extern will work with Judge Grewal's law clerks to review, research, and analyze civil motions pending before the Court. The Extern will prepare draft orders for the Judge and will have the
opportunity to observe matters heard by the Court during the weekly civil law & motions calendar. There also may be opportunities to research and prepare draft orders on criminal law motions.

Institute for Justice Center for Judicial Engagement Law-Student Essay Contest

For too long, the public debate over the role of the judiciary in American society has been consumed by a battle between two empty slogans: "judicial activism" and "judicial restraint." The Institute for Justice's Center for Judicial Engagement seeks to change that debate: Judges should not be ?activist? (which is too often simply a code word for ?a judge whose decision the speaker does not like?), nor should they be ?restrained? (which is too often simply code for complete judicial abdication). Instead, judges should be engaged?engaged in the process of applying the law to the actual facts of the case before them, including constitutional cases.
