The Directing Attorney/Executive Director has overall responsibility for all aspects of the organization. He/she provides direct legal representation in judicial and administrative proceedings; supervises other attorneys, paralegals, and clerical staff; is responsible for all personnel matters including hiring staff and salary decisions; writes grant applications, lobbies for funds and otherwise ensures that adequate funds are raised annually to finance the agency's operations; and advises the Board of Directors on issues of policy, planning, and evaluation of the agency's services.
Specific Eligibility Requirement:
- Active membership in the California State Bar,
- Litigation experience,
- Direct client service experience,
- Familiarity with Elder Law issues, and
- Sensitivity to needs of elderly clients.
Preferred:
- Grant writing experience,
- Experience in administration of funds,
- Personnel/Management experience, and
- Bilingual Spanish/English.
