Dean Huebner will be hosting a Community Career Chat lunch on with three guest attorneys! These attorneys work in the patent industry. The lunch is intended to be an informal event where you'll be able to ask questions regarding career planning and receive advice on landing a patent attorney position! Because the lunch is intended to be a small group chat, our RSVP list is limited to 10 students.

Shane Lunceford (Graduated from SCU Law in 2008)
Currently works at Kilpatrick Townsend. Shane Lunceford is a registered patent attorney whose practice focuses on a broad range of intellectual property issues in a wide variety of technical areas. In addition to his experience in preparing and prosecuting a multitude of patent applications, Mr. Lunceford has experience in researching and analyzing both legal and technical issues, drafting opinions and assisting in various phases of litigation and client counseling, domain name disputes and trademark enforcement.
Prior to joining Kilpatrick Townsend, Mr. Lunceford worked in the San Jose office of a firm as an associate. He was formerly an intern with Yahoo!, a law clerk in the Office of Chief Counsel at NASA Ames Research Center and a technical instructor and course developer for Excite@Home and Liberate Technologies where he focused on networking, web development and interactive television technologies.
Ryan Sydenham (Graduated from SCU Law in 2010)
Ryan currently works at Kilpatrick Townsend. Ryan focuses his practice on strategic portfolio development, with an emphasis on patent prosecution in the electronics, software and mechanical arts. He counsels clients in a variety of technology areas, including consumer electronics and medical devices.
While attending law school, Mr. Sydenham served as a research assistant for a professor writing a textbook on Chinese business law. He also worked as a patent clerk for Apple Inc.
Prior to joining the legal profession, Mr. Sydenham was a research assistant in a cross-disciplinary research team at Brigham Young University, which has since led to the formation of Millenniata Inc. He assisted in the development of a new archival grade optical storage media technology, embodied in the M-DISCTM. Additionally, he externed with the Power Systems Division of John Deere Corporation. In that capacity, he was part of a team that designed and constructed an innovative dynamometer prototype for a new quality assurance program.
Jason Croft (SCU Law 2010 Graduate)
Jason currently works for Patent Profit International. He also works as counsel for Silicon Valley StartUp. Jason's experience includes a wide array of complex issues in intellectual property, business, and anti-trust law. While working for leading Silicon Valley IP law firms, he prosecuted patents for diverse technologies, including electronics, software, mobile devices, semiconductors, mechanical devices, and medical devices. Jason has also served as a full-time extern/clerk for the Honorable James Ware at the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. Prior to law school, Jason worked as a robotics engineer designing high-tech automated equipment and leading research projects in the medical device industry. Jason is admitted to practice in California and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
