The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals today released its ruling regarding the restriction of health care benefits to the same-sex partners of federal employees. The court held that this restriction is unconstitutional and that there is rational basis to without benefits to same-sex partners. Analysts see the ruling as an important step in overturning DOMA -- the federal legislation which bans recognition of marriage equality for LGBT families by the federal government.
