International Criminal Tribunals

Two international criminal tribunals have been receiving media attention this week.
In the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia, Kaing Guek Eav (Duch) is on trial for crimes against humanity and war crimes. See Seth Mydans, Tales of Torture and Death Fill Court in Cambodia.
The former President of Liberia, Charles Taylor, is testifying in The Hague this week in proceedings of the Special Court for Sierra Leone. Taylor is accused of war crimes during a civil war in Liberia’s neighbor, Sierra Leone. See Taylor Labels Hague Case Lies.
