Foreign Law Translations
August 16, 2007 at 9:15 AM

The most recent issue of InSite from Cornell features a review of the Institute for Transnational Law at the University of Texas at Austin. The Institute provides a selection of French, German, Italian, Austrian and Israeli legal materials in English translation. Some court decisions are available from all four jurisdictions. Some French and German statutes are also included.

The translated cases and statutes currently concentrate on constitutional, administrative, contract and tort law, but the Institute has plans to expand its database. It is a rare, free source of foreign case law in translation.
