Beauty School Sues Student for Defamation

An article in today’s Chicago Tribune looks at some issues involved when students use social networking sites to critique their education: Vikki Ortiz Healy, Facebook ‘suck sites’ to be tested in court.

The article quotes experts from several organizations which study the internet: Harvard’s Berkman Center for Internet and Society, the Pew Internet and American Life Project, and the Center for Safe and Responsible Internet Use. It also briefly discusses two other electronic harassment cases, both of which are discussed in more detail at the Citizen Media Law Project website:
