Description:

The Advocate is the student-run newspaper for Santa Clara University Law School, and is dedicated to bringing relevant legal and non-legal news to the eyes and minds of every student. The Advocate is not a Journal, but rather a publication to inform and entertain law students about important events and developments on and off of the campus. We are dedicated to bringing a high quality literary product, while engaging  readership and participation from as many of our fellow students as possible.

We also endeavor to grow our Advocate alumni network. We hope to more cogently connect The Advocate's current editors and staff with its former editors and staff, in order to foster a greater community between us, and to increase awareness and opportunity for future employment.

We thus hope to supplement our traditional goal of providing worthy journalism, and help provide a nexus between students and alumni that may continue to benefit both parties beyond their time with The Advocate.

Mission Statement:

The Advocate aims to be the voice of the entire law student body. Our mission is to encourage progress and to cover important legal and non-legal issues relevant to the Santa Clara student body, and our surrounding community.

All students are encouraged to attend brainstorming sessions or contact the editors to pitch story ideas. No prior journalism experience necessary. This is your paper, so get involved!
