Tuition & Financial Aid 2009-2010

Santa Clara Law’s Financial Aid Office will work with you to plan for your education. Law school expenses can add up – and too much debt can affect the career choice you ultimately make. We offer various types of aid to assist you in obtaining your law degree.

First Year Tuition:
Full-time: $38,040*
Part-time: $26,628**

* full-time tuition is based on 30 units per year at $1,268 per unit

** part-time tuition is base on 21 units per year at $1,268 per unit

Loans

Most law students are eligible to borrow $20,500 through Federal William D. Ford Direct Loans.  You can borrow additional federal funds up to the cost of attendance through the Federal Grad PLUS Program.

Fellowships & Scholarships

We award various scholarships and fellowships to those applicants who demonstrate exceptional potential for the study of law. All applications are automatically considered for scholarship. Admitted students will be sent additional application materials for the Public Interest Scholarship.

Employment

Part-time, on-campus employment based on financial need (Federal Work Study) is available after the first year.  Additional on-campus and off-campus opportunities are available to help pay tuition costs too. We strongly encourage fulltime students not to work during their first year so you are able to focus on your studies.

To apply for financial aid, complete the FAFSA on-line and include Santa Clara as one of the schools to receive your information. If you need further assistance, contact the Law Financial Aid Office to meet with a financial aid counselor.
