In these materials our use of the words debt and claim conforms to their definition in Bankr. Code 101 (12) and 101(5), respectively.  The Bankruptcy Code, enacted in 1978, and drafted against the backdrop of nearly 20 years of commercial practice under the Uniform Commercial Code, accurately reflects contemporary commercial law vocabulary.
